Sasan Gir is the only place on the earth where Asiatic Lions can be seen. Sasan is 64 kms away from Junagadh. Gir forest is one of the few in the world which combines open scrub, dry deciduous thorn forests and an evergreen corridor along the riverside. It has a number of other animals and birds like panthers, striped hyenas, sambar (the largest Indian deer), Chital (spotted deer), Neelgai (blue bull), Chinkara and the unique four horned antelope called chousingha. Crocodile breeding farm is also there.
