Kaleshwaram village is located on the banks of river Godavari. According to legend, oneof the Vaishyas had performed an abhisheka to Kaleshwara Mukteswara with hundreds of milk pots, and the milk evolved at the sangamam of Godavari and Pranahita, hence the name Dakshina Gangotri. People believe that the river Saraswathi also flows under Godavari and Pranahita at this place and therefore the meeting point is called as Triveni Sangamam. Kaleshwaram is the center for pushkaras, which is organised once place in every 12 years. The Saraswathi Pushkaram took place in 2013 summer and Godavari Pushkaram is being observed in 2015.
