The river Gowthami splits at Vijjeswaram and flows by the side of Yanam town and branches off into Nilarevu. The Nilarevu discharges into the Bay of Bengal at Bhairavapalem village after flowing almost 14 kms towards east from Yanam. The Gowthami branches off and flows through Guthinadeevi village for 3 kms and then flows towards Balasutippa village from where it meanders towards left and finally joins Bay of Bengal.
