In commemoration of the 67th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, great patriot and a valiant fighter for the country's freedom. During World War II, he escaped to Japan and reorganised the Indian National Army (INA) initially formed by Rashbehari Bose. He proclaimed the Provisional Government of Azad Hind or Free India in Singapore on 21st October 1943, and with his band of dedicated patriots in the INA, gave a mighty battle to the Anglo-American forces in the eastern frontier of the country in 1944-1945. Born on 23rd January 1897.

The 15np stamp depicts Netaji and the INA insignia, and the 55np stamp shows Netaji leading the INA.
