Warangal also known as Orugallu, and Ekasila Nagaram is located 148 kilometres northeast of Hyderabad. Warangal is the erstwhile capital of ancient Andra Pradesh during 12th to 14th century. It is one of the fine example of Kakatiya architectur eand popular tourist attraction in Andra Pradesh.On 28 February 2013, Warangal was accorded World Heritage city status by UNESCO. The Thousand Pillar Temple is one of the very old temples of South India, near the Hanamkonda-Warangal highway that was built by the kakatiyas. It stands out to be a masterpiece and achieved major heights in terms of architectural skills by the ancient kakathiya vishwakarma sthapathis. The cancellation depicts one of the Kirti toranas of Kakatiya Dynasty also known as Kakatiya Gate.
