The Sri Mallikarjunaswamy Temple located in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh is the temple of Lord Siva. It houses one of the twelve "Jyotirlingas" of Lord Siva and one of the eighteen deities of the "MahashaktP in a single complex. Located on the flat top of Nallamalai hills, near the Krishna river, its history began with the early Satavahanas, eariy rulers of Andhra. It has played a dominant role in the Hindu religious, cultural and social history since ancient times.
