The first series of 32 'Greeting Post' cards and envelopes was launched by Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, India's Minister for Communication, in a function organized at India Post's HQ 'Oak Bhawan' on 6th September 2000 at New Delhi. No special first day of issue postmark was provided for this issue on the same day and regular date stamp of the Bureau was used. Approximately, after 2 1/2 months covers with special cancellation dated 6.9.2000 were issued through Philatelic Bureau, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.
