Every Year India Post has issued Collector's Packs for the benefit of the stamp collectors. In this Year Pack, stamps (mostly single), issued during the year, are packed and provided together for those who might not have purchased them at respective time and date.

In the inner sides of the Packs,

• from 1971 to 1975 only appropriate box for the stamps showing below their details and denominations are printed;
• in 1976 blank box of the stamps are given along with details and denominations of stamps on another page;
• in 1977 instead of blank box, picture of stamps are printed along with details and denominations of stamps on another page;
• from 1978 onwards, detailed list of stamps are given in the inner pages of the pack;
• from 1979 onwards, in most of the packs total number of stamps issued during the year and its total face value is given;
• in 2005 and some other Year Packs, Album Type transparent strips are given to insert and preserve the stamps.
• The sale price of the pack by Postal Department is also printed in many cases. This Pack price was little more than the face value of mint stamps included in the respective packs.

Miniature sheets and Sheetlets are not provided in these Packs.
