‘Satyagraha Express’ runs between Delhi and Raxaul in Champaran district of Bihar. Peasants here were forced to grow crops that had very little value and on their request Gandhiji visited Champaran to mitigate their grievances. Here he surprised the authorities by his strategy of non-violent protest which was his first ‘SATYAGRAHA’.Hence the name of the train is a Tribute to Gandhi’s concept of ‘SATYAGRAHA.
