‘‘Swaraj Express’ runs between Mumbai and Jammu and commemorates Gandhiji’s concept of ‘Swaraj’ or self-rule. After Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919, Gandhiji began to highlight self-governance and this matured quickly into ‘SWARAJ’ or complete individual, spiritual and political independence. The name of the train is a tribute to Gandhi’s concept of ‘SWARAJ’.
