In 1992, the second Rajdhani Express between Mumbai and Delhi was inaugurated and to commemorate the golden jubilee of the Quit India movement of August 7, 1942, it was named the ‘August Kranti Rajdhani Express’. Over the period, Over time, the Quit India movement was also known as August Kranti. Hence ‘August Kranti Rajdhani Express’ is a Tribute to that great Historic Event.
