Folders of Saint & Poet Series which include stamp of Rabindranath Tagore issued on 1-10-1952

The saints & poets set of 6 stamps issued in 1952 is the first commemorative set in post independence era which was printed by Photogravure Processing India. Rabindranath Tagore 12 Anna stamp happens to be in this set. This is the first set post Independence in which all the 6 stamps can be collected with gutter margins. A Publicity Brochure was also issued which is scarcely seen. Apart from the official folder, two V.I.P. folders were issued in form of small booklets out of which one was with silk cloth cover & another was without silk cloth cover. The contents of all the 5 stamps (Kabir, Meerabai, Tulsi-das, Surdas & Ghalib) in both the folders are the same except Rabindranath Tagore. In the normal V.I.P. folder without silk cloth the de-tails of the text in Hindi is on the left side of the page & the text in Bengali is on the right side. In the silk cloth V.I.P. folder the details in Hindi & Bengali are opposite which becomes collectable.  Illustration of both the pages is shown.

Booklet in Two different Formats. First with Hindi Language on Left and another with Hindi on Right. Same with Bangla Language also. First has mentioned टागोर while second mentioned रवि ठाकुर just below the stamp area.

Folders of Rabindranath Tagore Stamp issued on 7-5-1961

This stamp is issued on birth centenary of Rabindranath Tagore. The stamp carries the profile of Rabindranath Tagore. It is based on the design by Satyajit Ray & printed by India security press Nasik. In this issue one V.I.P. folder & two normal folders, one in three fold format and  other in book format, were issued. Illustrations are shown for reference. A VVIP Folder with the Silk Cloth cover was also issued.
