Kolia Bhomora Setu is a pre-stressed concrete road bridge over the Brahmaputra River near Tezpur in Assam (India). It is named after the Ahom General Kolia Bhomora Phukan.
This bridge connects Sonitpur on the north bank with Nagaon District on the south bank. The length of this bridge is 3015 meters. The construction of the bridge took place from 1981 to 1987.
Brahmaputra, one of the longer rivers in Asia with a total length of 2880 km – 920 km of which lie in India – had been bridged only at one place, the only link between the North Eastern states with the rest of the country. This 1.3 km rail-cum-road bridge, completed in 1962, was also constructed by Indian Railways. Railway-cum-Road Bridge, Guwahati.
